How We Got Here
The short version: an opportunity we never saw coming, and a “why not” that changed everything.
The longer version starts with Adrian, who grew up in England surrounded by proper pubs, the kind you walk into and never really want to leave. Warm rooms, regulars at the bar, food your nan would make. He’s always loved good food and drink, but running a pub of his own wasn’t the plan.
Then, of all things, the chance came along while we were living back in England. It wasn’t anything we expected, but the stars aligned, and we knew a chance like this might never come around again. So we said “why not,” and got to work: calls with banks, the local Small Business Development Center, and anyone else who could teach us what we needed to know. Then we packed up, moved back across the Atlantic, and started building.
In April of 2022, we opened the doors. The space is small and intimate. The menu is fresh and local as much as possible. The idea was simple: bring a real piece of England to Enon and the community has embraced it more fully than we ever could have hoped.
Adrian leads The Last Queen and is the face of it all, partly because he’s the British half of the partnership, but mostly because there’s no one better with people. Maggie keeps the place running behind the scenes, and you’ll often spot their daughters working alongside them – it’s truly a family business. And the extraordinary TLQ team handles the bar, the kitchen, and the floor – they’re the reason this building feels less like a restaurant and a bit more like someone’s living room where you’ve pulled up a chair to kick back and enjoy yourself.
A Few Things to Know Before You Visit
How a British pub works
We aim to run The Last Queen like an authentic British pub, and that works a touch differently than most American restaurants, so here’s the lay of the land.
Walk in and make yourself at home, whether that’s a seat at the bar or a table that catches your eye. Look the menu over, note the table number on your wooden spoon, then head up to the bar to order – just give them your number/order and we’ll bring everything out to you!
There’s no table service like you might be used to, but we’ll still look after you – checking in on refills, clearing plates and seeing if we can tempt you with dessert. Need anything else? Just pop back up to the bar or flag one of us down!
When you’re all set, head up to close your tab whenever you’re ready. No pressure, no waiting on the check, just come up when it suits you.
Sounds a little different the first time, but most folks are converts by their second visit. It’s all part of the authentic pub experience we set out to bring to Enon.
Local Where We Can, Imported Where It Counts
We’re a small business ourselves, so supporting other local businesses just makes sense to us. All our meat is sourced from local farms, and where we can, we source other ingredients from Ohio – including local breweries and distilleries you’ll find on our bar menu alongside the British classics.
We won’t pretend everything comes from down the road (some things simply have to come from across the pond or a larger vendor), but when there’s a chance to keep it local, we take it. It’s part of being a good neighbor and Enon and the surrounding communities have been awfully good neighbors to us.
A Rag-Tag Family
A Home Away From Home
Four years in, and we’ve got regulars who feel more like family. People who came in for a pint and ended up celebrating birthdays here. Couples who got engaged at our tables. There’s a Friday-night booth that’s been the same five faces since the month we opened. We’ve had bikers chatting up retirees while a kids’ party hijacks the corner table, and nobody bats an eye.
The food matters. The bar matters. But the part we’re proudest of is the people who keep walking back through the door.

Parking Clues & Local Notes
You can find ample parking – either in front of the building, beside the building, across the street near the giant red double decker bus or we have an overflow parking lot (car park as they say in England) across the street at 103 E Main Street, next to Travis’ Barber Shop and directly across from Speedway – only a 1 minute walk! As a side note, TLQ building is attached to a house that isn’t ours. Please refrain from parking in any spaces marked ‘Tenants Only’. Thank you!
